What does the CLE stand for?

CLE is short for the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition, Thunder Bay’s annual fair, rooted in agricultural tradition and community entertainment since 1890. In 2025, it celebrates its 135th year, bringing together livestock shows, homecraft exhibits, carnival rides, food vendors, and family-friendly activities.

How long is the CLE in Thunder Bay?

The 2025 Canadian Lakehead Exhibition runs for five full summer days, from Wednesday, August 6, through Sunday, August 10. Each day runs roughly from noon until after dark, featuring daily live entertainment and a fireworks finale on Sunday.

What to expect at CLE August 6–10, 2025

Two major midways with 22–25 rides each, offering everything from roller coasters to family-friendly Ferris wheels.

Kids World in the Clayton Building includes science stations, reptile displays, and interactive exhibits. A petting zoo, toddler activities, and a nostalgic CLE display complete the experience.

Agriculture & livestock showcases: daily Dairy, Beef, Sheep, Goat and Horse demonstrations celebrating local farms.

Inside, the Dorothy Dove and Heritage Buildings host culinary demos, homecrafts, horticulture, cooking shows, and farm animal exhibits.

Main stage entertainment each evening includes Hypnotist Corrie J (7:30–9 pm), followed by musical tributes like Taylor’s Story (Taylor Swift), Simply Queen, Carla Sacco (Shania Twain), Beatles tribute The Caverners, and The Northern Pikes (1960s–’80s favourites).

Meet-and-greet with Bluey & Bingo on Wednesday–Friday (noon–4 pm), and Peppa Pig & George on Saturday–Sunday, same times.

Final fireworks show lights up the sky on Sunday, August  10, to close out the fair.

Estimated attendance is around 60,000 visitors, making it one of the largest summer events in Northwestern Ontario.
