Excellent staff, and an excellent clean, updated hotel. Had a great experience and highly recommend it. The attached restaurant was also excellent.

There was no body wash or extra toilet paper. Restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. We were not told where ice machine was.

Our only challenge was the heat and air in the meeting room - it was either freezing or hot. We thank the staff for the attention to detail they provided.

We enjoyed our atay, staff was professional and welcoming. The rooms clean, friendly housekeeping staff. Our family had a delicious breakfast at the restaurant . We will book here again.

Very clean comfortable rooms close to the airport. Breakfast (not included in my reservation) in on site restaurant was very good with pleasant and accommodating wait staff. There is not much within walking distance if you decide to leave the hotel on foot.

The floor in my room was dirty. This was the second time in a row! I think I might be done staying here.

Staff was amazing…very helpful, polite and willing to answer questions. Great location with grocery stores, coffee shops and dollar store nearby. So close to airport too, with a free shuttle every 30 min. Excellent! Rooms are large, beds comfy, bathrooms updated…nice. Only issue was that our little fridge was as set on too high and most of our food was frozen. I asked for a remedy after 2 of our 5 day stay, but it was not fixed. My partner liked the gym and pool very much.

We travelled across Canada, and we stayed in 6 different hotels. Valhalla was by far the best: Location - easy to find coming off the highway Check in/out: straightforward Room: excellent - spacious- clean and comfortable Restaurant: best value meal we had the entire trip, varied menu, and delicious. Service was friendly, informative and efficient. 10/10

We travelled with our dog and were very happy with our welcome here. The staff were very friendly. Comfortable beds. We were able to order food in the restaurant and pick it up when it was ready. Staying there again on our way back home. My granddaughter loved the pool.

Great location. Busy property. A lot of people walking around the property. Construction next door and this noise starts at 7:00am. Nice staff. Good breakfast! Clean room.

Older hotel but still nice, room was clean. Staff were okay, first time I’ve ever checked in and been greeted with “do you have ID”

Charging almost double for the last night we were there was down right ridiculous. Same room. Nothing changed, except for the cost.

Rooms were wonderful and modern. Stairwells and entrances were very dirty. We found the bed hard. We were disappointed we could not get the Expedia rate from the motel. Stay was fir medical but no medical rate. If it wasn't for the rate we got through Expedia we could not have afforded to stay there

Had an unexpected overnight in Thunder Bay. This place helped us make the most of it. The on-site restaurant had great drinks and food.

Everything about my stay at the Valhalla Hotel was excellent. This hotel has been a mainstay in Thunder Bay for many years, but I am impressed by their recent upgrades and efforts to make the visitor experience enjoyable. The staff were very helpful, even giving me an extra hour to check out without a fee (though a longer extension would require a fee). The restaurant, Skal, features interesting Finnish/Scandinavian cuisine along with standard fare. My Vegan Breakfast Burrito was superb. All around great.

Overall a great experience on the road. Especially with the staff who were excellent. A couple of things. I was in a pet friendly room with main floor access. The sliding glass door was SO heavy I could barely close it from the outside plus it didn’t lock but there was a security bar installed. There was a nasty old crusty thing under the bed that my dog found and I had to block him from touching it.. i have pictures if needed. I was awakened at @ 10:15 pm by the fan/AC/ Heater unit blasting and showing Error messages. I called front desk & they said they’d send maintenance but they were held up in another situation. So by 10:45 I called back to cancel as I had to get some sleep for my next day’s travels. She offered me a break on the room which I very much appreciated because I was paying top dollar and unable to get a lot of sleep. So overall the staff were amazing, the hot water was great and the mattress was excellent.

As advertised. Clean and approachable staff. Wish there was some discount/voucher offered for breakfast given that the restaurant looked top notch.

The floors in the room had some hair that didn't belong to either of us on it but over all the rest of the room was clean

The door to the room was open when we arrived which concerned me due to the fact I was travelling alone with my children and felt a little unsafe.

Had a king drive up room -rooms great but the sliding glass door is way too hard to push open and shut need to clean the dirt and grime out of the bottom tracks-not really user friendly 🥴

Very over priced for what you get, it is the cheapest in the city. Still way over priced just stayed at a super 8 much nicer and included hot breakfast for cheaper of 165. Won’t stay in Thunder Bay ever again for how over price it is.

Hotel was pretty good. Check in was somewhat easy, ladies working at the front were helpful and pleasant. Pool has nice soft warm water and was dimmed at night creating a cool ambiance. Towels ran out but were replaced when asked. Washroom and bedroom were clean and linens and mattresses were comfortable to sleep on. One elevator was broken so the walk to the room was unreal. And this was a disabled room as well. Better signage is needed on the floor landings as can be hard to figure out where certain amenities are. Lobby was cozy with some nice artwork and a nice looking sitting area with fireplace. Courtyard was probably once really great and still has potential if more care put into it. Need to hire an additional gardener if you want to keep it fully maintained. Noise level was minimal and occasional plane in early am. Decent hotel, just a little more attention to the details could bring the ratings up.
