Room was very clean and hallways were vacuumed and free of garbage! Only thing is, butts outside entrances have to be cleaned up! Trip to airport with Valhalla transfer was quick and driver was very pleasant! Overall stay was a 5 plus!! 👍👍👍👍👍

This hotel was phenomenal. The first morning cleaning staff sept 1st were amazing. The cleaning staff on the 2nd was luxury hotel level. On the 3rd was just ok and on the 4th they just never came, not even adding coffee. The front staff were great when I came down and asked for the coffee and creamer while it wasn’t their job to do they went the extra mile. The elevator was down the entire stay with no sign of actually attempting to get it fixed so be prepared for a long trek down 3 long hallways, the last having an incline. The court yard was lovely though could use someone checking it, my dog found rib bones on the ground and there were cigarette butts covering the floor where some of the rooms are (it’s non smoking court yard so not the hotels fault, hopefully someone can check more often and empty the garbage that was only emptied once in my 5 day stay for an event. The restaurants food was delicious and servers amazing. I brought my service dog and they were all very kind and helpful while checking us in and the restaurant gave us the option to sit in a closed section to give my service dog some space on a very busy evening. Will definitely be staying there again in the future.

The reason for the low score is the restaurant. The older guy in restaurant serving in the evening was slow and not friendly. The younger people are way better and service was excellent.

Everything was good except the A/C was so loud I had a hard time sleeping. So if you like loud background noise this is the hotel for you.

I was very happy to arrive to a nice clean room with nice linens. The staff were efficient and friendly. Free parking was appreciated. An improvment could be; having complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby.

After multiple stays in the past we had kinda given up on this place 4 yrs ago. We checked reviews and they looked better so we gave it a try. We had not booked a specific room but with a truck load of gear and no cap had hoped for a ground floor with a patio door. The girl at the counter was over the top amazing! Set us up with the last main floor room and threw us a few extra coffee. Ended up with a suite that was spotless. Had a meal at Skàl that was good and reasonably priced. Our server was terrific but we believe a little overloaded as she was serving tables and running the bar. All in all the staff here made our stay fantastic. Thank you. See you in the spring!

Room was not the most clean, the curtains were very dirty and there was a beetle on them, there was a lot of hair and some pet fur on the floor all over the room.

Loved that the pool was functioning and open late. Made it possible to take my daughter which made the first night stay even better!

Greeting at front desk was not great. Staff did not inform us of dining options or amenities. Room was nice but bathroom was a bit cramped and exhaust fan was dirty. TV was difficult to use and there were no instructions.

Room was very clean and recently updated. Comfortable beds and the suite rooms are a nice size and you have the option to park outside your room. Pool and sauna were fantastic and the restaurant was very enjoyable. Not sure why there are some lower reviews on this property. Very clean, great staff and a comfortable lodge vibe. Will be back!

Good: Nice size room, convenient location. Bad: Restaurant/Bartender was really slow, and didn’t pay attention to the customers at the bar, everyone had empty glasses for a while. 1 customer left because he waited too long without anyone helping him.

Love the convenience of leaving our vehicle while we are away on vacation as well as the shuttle service. Greatly appreciated by the outline communities who have to travel to Thunder Bay.

I was travelling from Kitchener to Dryden, a distance of almost 2000 km to help with a family tragedy. I left my physical Mastercard at home with my 17 year old son to use in case of an emergency. I travelled with my passport, driver's license, debit card, and iPhone (containing all of my credit card information). Not having a physical Mastercard caused me issues with car rental and a hotel, The Best Western. (The woman behind the counter was condescending, juvenile, and rude.) I booked the Valhalla through Booking.com and was immediately charged the full amount on my Mastercard. They asked for ID, not my credit card. The room was paid for. They needed a $150 property damage deposit from a credit card. I told him that I could pay the $150 with my debit card and that although I had my credit card information, my physical card was in Kitchener with my son. He said that was fine and sent an invoice to my email, which I paid online with my credit card information. I did NOT need my physical card. He solved the problem in a kind, courteous, respectful way. I said that I learned always to have my physical card on me in the future (I'm so used to Apple Pay) and he responded, "Oh, it happens." Wow! I appreciated that he didn't shame me for making a mistake. Instead, he professionally resolved the matter in a warm, friendly, polite, human way. He accommodated me! The room was renovated, clean, and bright. The bed was comfy. The Lobby had coffee, snacks, and fresh fast food for a quick breakfast before I headed to the bus terminal to catch my ride to Dryden (since I couldn't rent a car without my physical Mastercard). It was a 13 minute walk to the terminal (next to the airport). This hotel came through for me after a very stressful morning. It provided me with what I needed...understanding, accommodation, rest, and rejuvenation, before I resumed my journey to Dryden. Thank-you for being kind human beings.

The hotel has a restaurant / bar and pool - we stayed just one night so did not try either. Room was huge and had great lighting (poor lighting is a pet peeve of mine). We were on fourth floor, next to ice machine and elevators but had no noise issues. The AC was noisy in the room but that is pretty common at hotels. Location is convenient to access and park for free. Close to shopping center for food and shopping. I think it was great value and I would not consider staying anywhere else. The service, staff and the room was great. Now here's the negative. When I woke up sleeping with my head toward where the feet should be, I found a long strand of hair and I was by myself. I also have short haircut for regular person. Told the desk what has happened, gotten an apology but I do hope the bed was all changed out with the trash bags and the room was vacuumed.

Stayed here with my wife and our dog. The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant food was perfect after a long day of driving. The double queen room was spacious, clean, and very well maintained. We had a great stay and would definitely stay here again!
