Les chambres sont vraiment belles comme neuves et les lits très confortables. Nous avons été déçus car beaucoup de choses étaient en maintenance: piscine fermée; buanderie fermée, 1 ascenseur en réparation. Le restaurant est très bon pour souper et déjeuner. Il encourage les producteurs locaux et sert du vrai sirop d’érable.

They have a beautiful lounge and dinning room, good food and super staff! The rooms are new and modern except for the room’s air conditioning units, very noisy and kick in and out all night making it difficult to sleep unless you are a very heavy sleeper. If you do not want to use the air conditioning you can turn the unit off, but the window to the outdoor side only opens about 6 inches and you can hear the airline traffic taking off and landing early in the morning because the hotel is very close to the Thunder Bay International Airport runways.

Good: It was an ideal location for what I needed. The beds were quite comfortable and the room was very clean.

Had a really great experience here. Accommodating, kind, and clean. Nordic style. Pool was great. Restaurant was awesome too. Also, the hotel itself is pretty. If you like architecture, you may find it interesting.

Minor issues: Electric car chargers not working. No way to know this before booking and arriving on site. TV in room had no connection to any cable or satellite networks, or anything at all. Fridge in room had a box of food leftover from previous guest. It was on the highest shelf so it would have been difficult for cleaning staff to see it. Lastly, ice dispenser is only available on the second floor a long walk away from my room 352. Otherwise, a very good hotel.

Upon our arrival from a 14 hour drive, we had to go back to the service desk and ask for additional towels and face cloths to take our showers. We were 4 in the room with 3 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 1 face cloth. Next day, our room wasn’t even cleaned at all. When we asked the others in our group if their rooms were cleaned, they all said yes. (We were part of a wedding block). Third day, room wasn’t even cleaned cleaned, waste baskets emptied, but NO hand soap, NO clean towels, we weren’t amused. Nice quiet hotel, friendly staff, however you need to attend to cleaning the waste baskets every day and at minimum make sure there is soap in the rooms to wash our hands. It’s the least we expect when we rent a hotel room.

Great staff! I called for extra facecloths, and within 5 mins a staff brought them up! Front desk was friendly and nice and the restaurant waiter was so funny and friendly. We will return for sure!!

Room was neat and clean. Bed was comfortable. Only issue was the lack of ice machines. They were only on the 2nd and 4th floors.

Clean hotel with pool and sauna. Restaurant food and service was good. Located across the street is Starbucks, Walmart and grocery store. Neighborhood was good but locked your lock it is Thunder Bay

I had a great stay and will stay there again. I did find it unusual that there were no ceiling light fixtures thought. Things change I guess

Room was clean. Building was clean. Parking lot was full. They need more luggage carts. I didn’t realize how big the hotel was when I booked, make sure you request a room by the elevator or you could be walking a long way to your room.

Good hotel, great location on our roadtrip. Dog friendly and a nice ground level room right behind our parking spot. The room was a bit dirty though.

Convenient bar-restaurant open for all meals and late into the evening. Recently renovated and very clean. Super friendly staff. Accommodated me as an early arrival with no problem.

All good! Loved the proximity of grass for my dog and parking near room. Vending machines and ice should be in more areas around hotel, not only at reception as this is a big center. This is my new favorite!! Thank you!

Staff was incredibly friendly however didn’t seem to know how to help with respect to answers about questions about their own restaurant or how to unstop the bathroom sink. We were in a courtyard room which had two steps between a seating area and the bed - it would be helpful to add a night low-lighting feature on the stairs so people don’t trip on midnight washroom runs. Otherwise totally satisfied and would definitely stay again.

rge rooms are great and the location to the airport in thunder bay is perfect. the food in the restaurant is very good but a little pricey

The food and lounge was excellent The room was very clean Just wish they had a couple of chairs to sit on in the room. Had to request for a couple of chairs (which were office chairs) which was brought up to our room immediately. More comfortable chairs would have been nice to relax in

Very accommodating when we asked for a quiet room. Friendly people at reception. Room very clean. Our favourite place to stay in the city.

Good: Our room was comfortable, clean, and up to date. The hotel restaurant, Skál, offers a pleasant environment, serves delicious food, and is staffed by friendly waiting personnel. Bad: At both check-in and check-out, the front desk personnel seemed distracted – and during check-in, they seemed rather officious and not especially welcoming. I've stayed at the Valhalla several times over the years, but today it lacks the friendliness and refinement of former years.

Good: The rooms are updated and very clean. We very much felt comfortable and loved the cleanliness and modernness of the rooms themselves. Bad: The property is older and starting to show its age. The exterior part of the hotel is starting to look run down. By exterior I mean the building, parking lot, hallways and common areas. Those spaces are showing wear and are far less clean.

Good: I liked the pool and sauna. My adult son really liked the bar--talking to international travelers who were friendly. Bad: No complimentary breakfast.

Great kudos to Laurie the general manager of the hotel who went above and beyond the camera footage to help me find my car keys so we can head back to Winnipeg Manitoba safety. I had not had the chance to say thank you to Laurie but hoping this will come to you and big thank you to all the staff that made our stay relieving. I will surely come back to the hotel a third time ;)

Upon arrival, signs at the front desk advised you that the washer/dryer were not working and an elevator was out of service so maintenance was not great. There were dings in the furniture and doors but the room was very clean. The beds, pillows and AC were good to ensure a good night's sleep. A bank, pharmacy and Walmart are nearby. Restaurants are a short drive away. The unsecured wifi was quick.
